summary/objective
The Material Management / Inventory Supervisor oversees inventory control activities, including ERP inventory transactions in the consumption of materials, sampling coordination, and routine cycle counting within a GMP-regulated environment. This role ensures accurate inventory records, material traceability, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards. The Supervisor will manage a team of material handlers and technicians that will work closely with Quality Assurance, Production, Warehouse, Finance, and Planning to ensure timely material availability and inventory integrity.

 

essential functions

  • Maintain inventory accuracy through timely and correct ERP transactions for goods consumption, issuance, returns, adjustments, and transfers.
  • Generate and analyze ERP inventory reports to identify variances and resolve issues.
  • Supervise the dispensing of raw materials for production in accordance with batch records, SOPs, and GMP requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation, labeling, and segregation of dispensed materials.
  • Coordinate with Planning and Quality Control to ensure material sampling requests are fulfilled, and the chain of custody is maintained.
  • Lead routine cycle counts, perform inventory reconciliations, and investigate discrepancies.
  • Partner with Warehouse and Production departments to verify inventory reconciliations.
  • Work with the Finance department to process any confirmed inventory adjustments.
  • Maintain compliance with internal inventory control policies and audit readiness.
  • Ensure all inventory-related activities comply with cGMP, FDA, DEA (if applicable), and internal quality standards.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all material movements and transactions.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing and presenting required records.
  • Train, coach, and supervise assigned personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to inventory, sampling, and dispensing.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

required skills/ abilities

  • Proficient in ERP system transactions for inventory and material management.
  • Hands-on experience with dispensing operations and material sampling in a cleanroom or controlled area.
  • Strong understanding of cycle counting, reconciliation, and inventory variance investigation.
  • Solid knowledge of GMP, FDA, and DEA requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

 

 

education and experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in material management or inventory control within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment

Must be able to work in warehouse and controlled environments (e.g., cleanroom gowning required).

This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, but extended (earlier or later) work times or weekend work may be required.
